چکیده
A bstract gauge-invariant framework for computing bubble nucleation rates at finite temperature in the presence of radiative barriers was presented and advocated model-building phenomenological studies an accompanying article [1]. Here, we detail this computation using Abelian Higgs Model as illustrative example. Subsequently, recast approach dimensionally-reduced high-temperature effective field theory nucleation. This allows including several higher order thermal resummations furthermore delineate clearly approach’s limits validity. provides robust perturbative treatments during possible first-order cosmic phase transitions, with implications electroweak baryogenesis production a stochastic gravitational wave background. Furthermore, it yields sound comparison between results non-perturbative computations.

One-loop corrections to the bubble nucleation rate at finite temperature.
We present an evaluation of the 1-loop prefactor in the lifetime of a metastable state which decays at finite temperature by bubble nucleation. Such a state is considered in one-component φ-model in three space dimensions. The calculation serves as a prototype application of a fast numerical method for evaluating the functional determinants that appear in semiclassical approximations. e-mail ba...
متن کاملGauge-Invariant Renormalization Group at Finite Temperature
I describe an application of Wilson Renormalization group to the real time formalism of finite temperature field theory. The approach has two nice features: 1) the RG flow equations describe non-perturbatively the effect of thermal fluctuations only, and, 2) the flow is gauge invariant. I then describe the application of the method to the study of the gluon self-energy in SU(N), and present res...
متن کاملThe 3d Effective Field Theory for Finite Temperature Scalar Electrodynamics
The effective field theory approach to high temperature field theory can be used to study the phase transition in theories with spontaneously broken symmetry. I construct a sequence of two effective three–dimensional field theories which are valid on successively longer distance scales for a specific model: model: N charged scalars coupled to a U(1) gauge field. The resulting effective Lagrangi...

Using a ten dimensional dual string background, we study aspects of the physics of finite temperature large N four dimensional SU(N) gauge theory, focusing on the dynamics of fundamental quarks in the presence of a background magnetic field. At vanishing temperature and magnetic field, the theory has N = 2 supersymmetry, and the quarks are in hypermultiplet representations. In a previous study,...

We use a ten dimensional dual string background to study aspects of the physics of large N four dimensional SU(N) gauge theory, where its fundamental quarks are charged under a background electric field. The theory is N = 2 supersymmetric for vanishing temperature and electric field. We work in a limit where the quarks do not back-react. At zero temperature, we observe that the electric field i...
